Whether you're looking to decorate your home, treat yourself to something unique, or get a funky gift for mom or dad for Mother's or Father's Day, you are bound to find something you can't live without at the One Of A Kind Show & Sale this weekend at Merchandise Mart.
This is one of the coolest art fairs you can imagine. And as an added bonus, it's inside, so the fickle Chicago spring weather won't spoil your fun.
I recognized a couple of the exhibitors from different art fairs and from the Andersonville Galleria (which made it to my top 10 list of places to visit in Andersonville), but a lot were completely new to me and most of what I saw was extraordinarily unique and eye catching.
The wintertime One Of A Kind show has been going on for 15 years now, and this weekend is the first of the springtime shows with exhibits from 300 talented artists and makers, delicious food (lots of free samples), entertainment and spring- themed programing. You will find a plethora of accessories, ceramics, fashions, furniture, mixed media, jewelry, metal works, paintings, sculptures, photography, wood pieces, glass art and much more.
The artists are for the most part present and are friendly and eager to discuss their work with you.
If you are not able to make it to the spring show, be sure to check out the winter one (Dec 1-4) for everyone on your holiday list. I am so glad the show is all weekend (Friday-Sunday) because I will definitely be going back for a second visit before the weekend is through.
